Resorts and B&Bs : Baja Guide : Travel : Home

Here is a summary of the resorts along the East Cape of Baja. Since the resorts and vacation rental units often change their rates and plans, we'll let their web pages do most of the talking.

Vela Baja Vela has an international reputation for great service and equipment. Their operation at Los Barriles is top notch. Most customers fly into San Jose del Cabo Airport and take a taxi to Los Barriles. Vela is in front of the Hotel Playa del Sol with direct access to the launch. Vela will set up accommodations and everything you need for a great windsurfing trip.
Vela: Playa del Sol: With the best launch in Los Barriles, this hotel is home base for our center. Features include an ocean view restaurant plus new upstairs bar w/ satellite TV overlooking the resort as well as oceanfront palapa bar right in the middle of the action, and large outdoor terrace surrounded the heated pool. Oceanfront, Poolside, and Garden view rooms are available. All meals, taxes, and access to our Vela Sporting Program are included in our packages.

Vela: Palmas de Cortez: Just 300 yards downwind from the Playa del Sol, this larger hotel offers a pool, Jaccuzi, tennis and racquetball courts, 9-hole golf course plus driving range, oceanfront dining room and poolside swim-up bar. Choose from Poolside, Oceanfront, Garden rooms, and spacious 2 Bedroom oceanfront condos. Access to our Vela Sporting Program are included in our packages, but no longer includes meals.

The park includes a beautiful stand of palm trees and we have planted over $30,000 in planting materials that line each of the oversized sites, which also include 4 pull throughs. Located 1,000 feet (girl feet) from the beach, straight down Ocean Drive. Dubbed by guests as having ‘the best bathrooms in the Baja’.
