Data from this station is courtesy of the National Weather Service (NWS). This is a NWS sensor. When combined with the iwindsurf.com sensor this sensor is very useful in judging the wind in the Sherman Island area. During summer thermal winds if the wind is more SW then the iwindsurf.com sensor may read a bit low. If Travis is showing strong SW winds then expect good Sherman Island sailing. The Travis sensor is most useful on those big north wind days when the iwindsurf.com sensor may be in a wind shadow.
