waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...a 29.3 inch low just north of lake ontario will track
to the saint lawrence valley today, then a secondary coastal low 
will deepen to 28.8 inches over the canadian maritimes tonight
and friday. a weak trough averaging 30.1 inches will cross the 
saint lawrence valley saturday. meanwhile a 30.4 inch high will 
settle into the southeast states saturday then move off the 
carolina coast sunday. the next 29.6 inch surface low centered 
over northern wisconsin monday will gradually fill in to 29.8 
inches by tuesday, supporting a warm front so slide across the 
lake.
