weather advisory for snow...which is in effect from 7 am to 7 pm
est tuesday.
* timing...snow will overspread the area tuesday morning and
continue into the afternoon. the snow may mix with or change to
freezing drizzle before ending.
* worst conditions...morning through mid-afternoon where snowfall
rates up to 1 inch per hour are possible.
* total amounts of snow and ice...2 to 4 inches of wet snow
through tuesday evening. little in the way of ice accumulation
expected.
* impacts...snow covered roads and slick travel. areas of reduced
visibility.

afternoon...
.snow will form across the area overnight...after midnight...
and continue into tuesday morning. many area roads are expected to
be snow covered by daybreak which could impact the morning commute
and travel. in addition...temperatures may warm enough across
parts of eastern iowa into far southern wisconsin for a mix of
precipitation.
as the snow comes to an end tuesday afternoon...northwest winds
will increase with gusts from 30 to 40 mph. winds could remain
strong well into the evening as well. these winds are expected to
cause widespread blowing and drifting snow... especially in
southern minnesota and northern iowa where blizzard-like
conditions could occur in the higher terrain...open country areas.
