advisory for snow...sleet and freezing rain...which is in effect
from 10 pm this evening to 7 am est tuesday.
* timing...light snow will spread up into northern lower michigan
later this evening. snow will gradually mix or change over to sleet
and/or freezing rain during the overnight hours.
* main impact...light icing and a light coating of snow/sleet is
expected by tuesday morning.

.at 7 pm a band of light rain and snow was moving north through
central wisconsin. this band looks to move north of highway 29 and
across the area between 730 and 9 pm. as it does...it is expected
to become all snow.
snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are then expected from later
this evening through tuesday afternoon. the period of heaviest
snowfall appears to be tuesday morning into early tuesday
afternoon. this snowfall is likely to impact the morning commute
and any other holiday travelers driving through north-central
wisconsin on tuesday. this snow is expected to be a wetter type of
snow which will make roads slushy and slippery.

.a low pressure system will move across the upper midwest tonight
through wednesday and bring accumulating snow to portions of the
northland. patchy drizzle or flurries this evening will give way
to mainly snow overnight. an area of snow was lifting northwest
and will move into price county around 9 pm...then continue across
the rest of northern wisconsin overnight. the snow will diminish
in intensity tuesday night. the axis of greatest snowfall
accumulations...3 to 6 inches...is expected over portions of
northwest wisconsin. lesser snowfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
expected over the arrowhead and along the i-35 corridor. stay
updated on the latest information.
