the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.
.synopsis...a broad region of low pressure will average 29.90 inches
and linger over eastern quebec during most of the week. this will
combine with equally broad high pressure over the plains to maintain
cool but light northwest to westerly wind each day. clusters of
showers will move over the marine areas each day with the best
chance of rain during the warmest portion of the afternoon through
friday.

is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves...along
with the average height of the highest 10 percent of the waves
which will occasionally be encountered.
.synopsis...high pressure of 30.2 inches across the northern and
central plains will gradually weaken to 30.0 inches by daybreak
wednesday. meanwhile...low pressure of 29.9 inches will develop
across far eastern ontario by late afternoon and move to near lake
huron by tonight. this low will steer a cool front southward down
the lake tonight into early wednesday morning. another low of
similar magnitude will move southward and merge with this low on
wednesday...with a combined low near 29.8 inches expected to move
slowly into quebec on thursday and into friday. a weak cool front
extending from this low will move southward across the lakes
region during or near friday night. high pressure of 30.2 inches
will then build over the great lakes region during saturday night
into sunday.

.synopsis...low pressure of 29.5 inches over new england will
move north to eastern quebec tonight while deepening to 29.4
inches. high pressure of 30.2 inches over the plains will slowly
move east and weaken into tuesday. low pressure at 29.8 inches
will develop across eastern ontario on tuesday and very slowly
move northeast into thursday. this will move a weak cold front
southward across the northern part of the lake on tuesday
afternoon and night. otherwise...the pressure pattern across the
lake during the middle to latter part of the week looks to remain
fairly tranquil.

.synopsis...expect a low pressure trough averaging 29.9 inches over
ontario to move over lake superior today on the southwest flank of a
29.4 inch low pressure system in quebec and to the east of a 30.2
inch high pressure ridge in the plains. a weak 30.1 inch high
pressure ridge will follow into the upper lakes on wednesday before
another subtle low pressure trough averaging 30.0 inches returns on
thursday into friday. look for a 30.2 inch high pressure system to
build over lake superior on saturday as the trough drifts into the
lower lakes.
