...the flood warning is cancelled for the following rivers...
kankakee river at davis affecting la porte...starke and st. joseph
.river levels are now not expected to reach into minor flood as
rain and storms set up north of the region last night.
never drive vehicles through flooded areas. the water may be too deep
to allow safe passage. never allow children to play in or near flood
waters. stay tuned to noaa weather radio or local media for further
statements and updated forecasts.

all times are in eastern time. this statement will be updated in
about 24 hours or sooner if necessary.

* flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* forecast...the river crested below flood stage at 9.6 feet early
saturday morning. the river will continue falling.
* at 10.0 feet...flooding of low lying agricultural areas begins.

...the national weather service in marquette is continuing the flood
advisory for the michigamme river near crystal falls in iron
.due to recent heavy rainfall, and upstream dam releases, the flood advisory
for the michigamme river near crystal falls will continue. river levels have
been steady near 7.4 feet, which is above bankfull. expect the water levels
to remain steady as the upstream dam continues to release a consistent water
safety message...residents along these rivers should remain alert and
exercise caution when walking near riverbanks.
a flood advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are
forecast to exceed bankfull. if you are in the advisory area remain
alert to possible flooding...or the possibility of the advisory being
upgraded to a warning. report observed flooding to local emergency
services or law enforcement and request they pass this information on
to the national weather service.

* at 8.0 feet...3700 cfs - river begins to flood additional low lying
areas along the river bank.
* at 7.0 feet...2700 cfs - river exceeds bankfull stage.
