* what...for the coastal flood watch, up to one foot of 
  inundation above ground level possible along shorelines and 
  tidal waterways (10.2 to 10.4 feet mean lower low water at 
  fort pulaski). for the high rip current risk, dangerous rip 
  currents.

* where...in south carolina, coastal jasper county. in georgia, 
  coastal mcintosh, coastal liberty, coastal chatham and coastal 
  bryan counties.

* when...for the coastal flood watch, from 8 pm this evening to 
  1 am edt sunday. for the high rip current risk, through sunday 
  evening.

* impacts...numerous roads will be flooded, along with some 
  properties. highway 80 to tybee island will be impassable. rip 
  currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into 
  deeper water.

* additional details...high tide will occur around 10:32 pm 
  today at fort pulaski. saltwater inundation will be possible 1 
  to 2 hours before and after high tide.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

if travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.

swim near a lifeguard. if caught in a rip current, relax and
float. don't swim against the current. if able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. if unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.

  4 to 5 feet in the surf zone. for the coastal flood watch, one 
  to two feet of inundation above ground level possible along 
  shorelines and tidal waterways (8.5 to 8.7 feet mean lower low 
  water at charleston). for the high rip current risk, dangerous 
  rip currents.

* where...beaufort, coastal colleton and charleston counties.

* when...for the coastal flood warning, from 8 pm this evening

  tonight and 11:15 am sunday at charleston. saltwater inundation
  will be possible 2 to 3 hours before and after high tide.
