tuesday...
...small craft advisory will expire at 11 am edt this morning...
the winds and waves that were generating small craft advisory
conditions on the eastern end of lake ontario have subsided this
morning and the small craft advisory will be allowed to expire.
however winds and waves will increase again late tonight and
monday morning. therefore the national weather service in buffalo
has issued a small craft advisory...which is in effect from 7 am
monday to 2 am edt tuesday.
* winds...west 15 to 20 knots.
* waves...3 to 6 feet.
precautionary/preparedness actions...

* location...coastal ocean waters east of fire island inlet.
* seas...4 to 8 feet.
* timing...the highest seas will be late tonight and monday. the
strongest winds will be on monday. the small craft will likely
have to be extended into tuesday east of moriches inlet.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a small craft advisory means that sustained wind speeds or
frequent gusts of 25 to 33 kt and/or seas of 5 ft or higher are
expected or occurring...and hazardous to small craft.
inexperienced mariners...especially those operating smaller
