...a flood warning remains in effect until 815 am edt for
southwestern wicomico county...
at 632 am edt...local law enforcement indicated ongoing flooding
across the warned area. up to three inches of rain have already
fallen. while rain coverage and intensity is expected to
diminish early this morning...several roads remain inundated. please
heed road closure signs and do not drive through flooded roadways.
some locations that will experience flooding include...
salisbury...fruitland...salisbury university...delmar...hebron...
mardela springs...whitehaven...green hill...chesapeake heights...
trinity...wetipquin...catchpenny...lakewood...shad point...royal oak
and allen.
additional rainfall amounts of less than one half inch are possible
in the warned area. additional rainfall is expected late this
afternoon and this evening.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams...country roads...farmland...and other low lying
spots.
a flood warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. all
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

northwestern kent county in central delaware...
northeastern kent county in northeastern maryland...
southeastern cecil county in northeastern maryland...

* at 718 am edt...doppler radar indicated mainly light rain was
falling across portions of the advised area. although the rain was
lighter, creeks and streams were still running high. the christina
river was out of it's banks in spots. over the last 36 hours,
about 3 to 5 inches of rain has fallen across portions of the
northern delmarva. runoff will continue through the morning.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. the water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.

* at 457 am edt...doppler radar indicated moderate rain falling
across the advised area. this will cause poor drainage and low
lying flooding early this morning. over the last 36 hours, 2 to 4
inches of rain has fallen across portions of southeastern
pennsylvania. up to another inch is likely this morning.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. the water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.
in hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. find alternate routes. it takes only a few inches of
swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
