...red flag warning remains in effect until 11 am pdt this
morning for strong winds and critically low humidity for valley
and coastal areas of the greater san francisco bay area...

* affected area...fire weather zone 006 san francisco, fire 
  weather zone 505 coastal north bay including point reyes 
  national seashore, fire weather zone 506 north bay interior 
  valleys, fire weather zone 508 san francisco bay shoreline, 
  fire weather zone 509 san francisco peninsula coast, fire 
  weather zone 510 east bay interior valleys, fire weather zone 
  513 santa clara valley including san jose and fire weather 
  zone 529 northern monterey bay.

* timing...strong, gusty winds will continue through early 
  morning before gradually diminishing through midday.

* winds...northeast 20 to 30 mph with gusts 40 to 50 mph.

* relative humidity...8-18 percent with little or no humidity 
  recovery through tuesday.

* impacts...any fires that develop will have dangerous rates of 
  spread. make plans now should you need to evacuate your 
  residence.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or will shortly. a combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
