open lake forecast for lake michigan
national weather service milwaukee/sullivan wi
307 pm cdt mon may 25 2020

for waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on lake michigan.

waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.synopsis...

a broad region of weak low pressure around 29.7 inches will
remain near or over the region for much of this week. this will
result in steady southerly winds, as well as periodic chances for
showers and storms through thursday. waves will vary between 1
and 4 feet for much of the week.

with an increase in warmth and low level moisture over the
relatively cold lake, dense fog will remain a concern. fog is
currently the most dense across the northern two thirds of lake
michigan. fog may eventually expand to the south late this
evening, and if so, the dense fog advisory may need to be
expanded.
