...strong northeast wind continues today...
.persistent northeast winds up to 25 knots focused over central
and southern sections of lake huron today into tonight will allow
for elevated wave heights in the nearshore waters of lake huron.
small craft advisories are in effect for waves in excess of 4
feet today through this evening. northeast winds will continue
into the weekend but should hover more around 10 knots and allow for
waves more in the 2 to 4 foot range.

...small craft advisory remains in effect until 10 pm edt this
* wind and waves: during the small craft advisory...expect
sustained winds up to 18 knots from the northeast with gusts up
to 25 knots. the largest expected significant waves will be 5
feet with a potential maximum wave height of 7 feet over outer
bay and southern lake huron.
* timing: the maximum winds and waves are expected around 11 am
edt friday.

precautionary/preparedness actions...
a small craft advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
inexperienced mariners...especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.
