am pst tuesday.
* locations include: all inland areas of the san francisco bay
area as well as the san francisco bayside zone. all inland
areas of the monterey bay area.
* temperatures: lows in the upper teen to the 20s can be expected.
* timing: a very cold airmass will remain over the area through at
least tuesday and freeze warnings have been issued from 10 pm
monday night through 9 am tuesday morning.
* impacts: long durations of below freezing temperatures can kill
crops and sensitive vegetation...harm outdoor pets and
livestock...and possibly cause unprotected water pipes to burst.
there will also be an increased risk of hypothermia for those
remaining outside overnight.
