the flood warning continues for
the ohio river at portsmouth
* until late saturday night.
* at 7 am the stage was 49.5 feet.
* minor flooding is forecast.
* flood stage is 50 feet.
* the river will rise above flood stage late this morning and continue
to rise to near 53.0 feet by tomorrow morning.the river will fall
below flood stage tomorrow late evening.
* at stages near 53.0 feet, water enters lower levels of homes in south
portsmouth. backwater flooding from the ohio river worsens onto area
creeks, especially along the ohio side of the river through scioto and
adams counties. flooding continues through stretches of route 52.
much of portsmouth itself is protected by flood walls.

the ohio river at maysville
* from this evening to sunday afternoon.
* at 7 am the stage was 47.4 feet.
* minor flooding is forecast.
* flood stage is 50 feet.
* the river will rise above flood stage tonight and continue to rise to
near 51.3 feet by early tomorrow afternoon.the river will fall below
flood stage late sunday morning.
* at stages near 51.0 feet, water enters huntington park power plant and
backwater and lowland flooding begins along creeks near maysville.
backwater flooding also begins in brown county, especially along eagle
and straight creeks. the city of maysville itself is protected by
flood walls to a stage just above 79 feet.
