...very warm to hot temperatures sunday and monday for the entire
.a strong ridge of high pressure will build continue to build over
the region through the remainder of this weekend. this will
result in much warmer conditions with the warmest temperatures
expected on sunday and monday. in addition... offshore flow will
develop tonight and persist into sunday...allowing very warm air
to reach all the way to the coast by sunday. record high
temperatures are possible both sunday and monday with some areas
experiencing their warmest daytime temperatures of the year.

san francisco bay shoreline-san francisco peninsula coast-
east bay interior valleys-east bay hills and the diablo range-

* temperature...highs will mostly be in the 80s to mid 90s near
the coast with 90s to 105 for inland areas.
* location...the entire san francisco bay area and entire
monterey bay area.
* timing...hottest days are expected to be sunday and monday. a
cooling trend is forecast from tuesday through the end of the
* impacts...the heat will result in elevated health risks for
those who are sensitive to heat.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. the hot temperatures will create a situation in which
heat illnesses are possible. drink plenty of fluids...stay in an
air-conditioned room...stay out of the sun...and check up on
relatives and neighbors. never leave kids or pets in vehicles as
temperatures can quickly reach very dangerous levels.
