|
|
I am quite impressed with the Cabo Verde PWA event web site and coverage. Bogo Design has done a phenomenal job and has set the bar for future events coverage. The blend of near real time blog/titter-like updates, photo image viewing and video coverage gives us, following the event, a feel for being there.
The ability to cover events online is moving into a new realm. Use of blog, forum, twitter, video, and photo showcase platforms are now standard. New exciting coverage mediums such as Dave Troup's recent Maui windsurfing web cast add additional ammunition to broadcasting what is happening as it happens. Given all the options available for extremely robust online coverage, can it payoff for advertising sponsorship required to fund future events? Even more regional events such as Hatteras Wave Fest, Florida Wave Challenge, Gorge Freestyle Frenzy, etc... in the US, along with other world wide events, can all benefit from this type of coverage and help draw up sponsorship support for these gatherings. Its really pretty cool what is now out there for building and administering robust online mediums. Much of it is standardized and fairly easy to implement. Likely the only "hard" part is the visual design of the t-shirt/rashguard and event site look and feel! |
