update on TI access:
yesterday the security guard came by and was taking pictures of all the cars parked on the grass. when we asked here about it, she indicated that she didn't have a problem with it, but in a meeting with the officials at TI several years ago, I was was scolded pretty hard for driving and having my car on the grass. If the residents are complaining that we are effectively driving and parking in their backyard, then this could become a problem. I can't think of any other reasons why the security guard would stop and take several pictures of the cars parked on the grass, which is the cause for my concern.
There were probably 8 cars already parked on the grass when I arrived and I asked whoever was still rigging to relocate their cars to the street or asphalt parking area. There were also two cars who took the wrong turn and were driving up the grassy area between the fence and the houses.
I would like to suggest that we self-police our group and get everybody not to park on the grass/dirt. This in the past was not a big problem, but they recently removed large portions of the fence, so now the grass area is much more open, and more people are using this area to park (including me the last couple visits before Sunday)
I welcome your thoughts on this one.

Kevin,
Thanks for posting your thoughts. I agree and think, especially now, we need to be respectful of the neighborhood. It kind of seems like "anything goes" at TI, but we are actually being watched pretty closely. We have heard previous complaints about public urination, people exposing themselves changing into or out of wetsuits, other parking issues, etc.
In addition to the above, I think we should really try to social distance and wear face coverings while not out on the water. The last thing we need is someone to send a picture of a group standing shoulder to shoulder drinking beer and complain that this is a health hazard. There is already a gate at the end of the road. It wouldn't take much for the authorities to put a lock on it.
Let's work together to keep the playground open.

With TI being one of the only launches open, and ebb tides this week there was a big turnout today, with some serious negativity from residents for which the launch is in their "backyard".
So another appeal to be chill: rig, do your thing and leave. Don't hang about socializing. If you want to hang out and tilt a brew, please pack up and go down the waterfront to another area where nobody lives and is less likely to care, like behind the fire training center (AKA the float-n-swim takeout)
We have no legal right to access the ramp because this is still Navy property. The one road in now has a new gate and the authorities won't be afraid to use it.

Thanks tomg , greywhyte and Kevin for the good protocol advice and what's potentially at stake for TI for bad behavior.
Well worth reiterating throughout the season, especially when conditions might induce a bigger turnout.
