Located at the impressive Jericho Sailing Centre on English Bay, this important Vancouver station was granted to us by General Manager Mike Cotter. A high usage, easy access site populated by many hardy windsurfers, kiters and sailors - this location offers an excellent indicator of conditions on the water. Special thanks go out to Herman Czinser and Peter Chin for their outstanding help during the installation. Local Expert? edit Edit this Page!

 Ability Level: beginner to advanced
Familiness: Very family friendly with picnic tables and washrooms and concession
Parking: There is a free dirt lot just west of the pier or pay parking with shady rigging by the pier
Launch: sand. On weekends watch for crowds and families picnicing

Data from this station is courtesy of a personal weather station. Our anemometer and vane were mounted on a pre-existing 25 ft mast on top of the Sailing Centre. This puts our sensors about 40 ft above the water and approx. 100 ft from the edge of English Bay. Site receives very clean readings from SW all the way around to NE. Several large trees located behind the building may shelter readings slightly w/ a SE or ESE wind, which is also offshore. Favored wind direction is generally westerly.

If you have additional site info or observations please email stu@iwindsurf.com to report.
