light northwest winds will continue across into friday morning as
high pressure around 30.1 inches in western great lakes region
moves east southeast into the mid atlantic states. meanwhile low 
pressure around 29.7 inches in kansas will move northeast toward 
the ohio river valley. winds will increase friday afternoon as 
the pressure gradient tightens between these two features. friday
night into saturday, a strong arctic cold front will move across
the lake further strengthening winds. there may be a brief window
of gale force gusts behind the front. brisk conditions will likely
cause heavy freezing spray as the cold airmass moves over lake
michigan.

a strong high pressure around 30.8 inches will move southeast 
from the northern plains and through the western great lakes
region sunday. winds ease later sunday as the high approaches, 
but gusty winds may return early next week as the high exits into
the ohio river valley.
