waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...an elongated 29.4 inch low will move into the central 
great lakes today, with one piece of this low passing just south of 
the lake tonight. a 29.3 inch low will develop over the central 
plains thursday, then move to the central great lakes by friday 
night, weakening to 29.7 inches as it moves just north of lake 
ontario saturday. a 30.4 inch high will then slowly build east 
across the great lakes through early next week.
