I might be there late march, early April. Does anyone have any local info or experience?

Hello The best place to sail is in Hua Hin and Pattaya. There are beautiful beaches everywere but unless you plan on traveling with your own gear the only place you may rent is at a resort and their gear is usually old.I have family that lives in Bangkok so I visit regulary and find the wind is generaly light around most of the country.I am learning to kiteboard so i can travel around with my own gear and take advantage of the lighter winds.Your timing is good you will be there before hot season so your cahnces are better. No worries though you will have agreat time no matter what.

I know this thread is old--but am wondering what would be the best place in Thailand for windsurfing in February? Am looking for good wind for relatively flat blasting, not big waves. So far I've found recommendations and rental places in Pattaya and Phuket.

Starboard is headquartered in Thailand. The following link is for their website.

Asking your question on their forums, "free forum" or "ask our team" may help.

I lived in Pattaya from 1990 to 1992. If my memory serves me right, the windy season is from November to January. I think February is still ok ( may be 10 mph to 17 mph average?) and there is no wave sailing at all. Back than, there were three on-site rentals, one on Pattaya's main strip, two on Jomtien's beach road. Of the three, Amara (a local female semi-pro windsurfer) had the best equipment. I did a search and found that she's still in business. Check out the link below.
