Try some of the kyaking PFDs they dont restrict your arms like most others. Lotus makes a good PFD like this - be aware that it can hinder your harness if your wearing a hip type harness. |

ProMotion in Hood River has a low-cut version that you can use with seat harnesses and a high-cut that fits over a waist harness. About $120/ea. I think Ziener also has a low profile, high cut vest. And Ive seen some others out there but cant remember the brands. |

I use an Extrasport paddling PFD that was $50 at REI. It is very floaty (an approved PFD), hi-cut to avoid my harness, has open arms, and includes pockets for safety gear & downhaul tool.
I found that the paddling vests are about half the cost of windsurfing vests, usually with more float & features. As long as you dont mind the bright colors. |

I also purchased an Extrasport paddling PFD @ REI, and was very happy with the fit and comfort until I tried floating in it, and it rolled me immediately into a face down position in the water. I am returning it. It was the lower cost ($37) blue model. |
