Does anyone have experience with insta 360 camera ?
I want to get it for windsurfing to attach to the boom initially and need to know all components for both the camera( case and lens protector from scratches to water intrusion into the camera) as well as what mount to get from the boom.
I also need to know how to attach a leash from the camera to mount and mount to the boom so no matter where it might break I wont loose the camera.
Let me know
Thanks |

Without a doubt! Those interested in recording immersive windsurfing footage will find that Insta360 cameras are an excellent option. basketball stars |

The newer version X4 comes with lens protectors, but I'm not sure the X3 has them. As for a leash, get a strong string/fishing line, and tie it around the base of the camera just above the attachment nob on one end & tie the string around your boom.
There are a few options for boom mounts. The Fly Mount is the strongest but also the most expensive.

Gopro makes two versions of a handlebar/seat post mount. The older version will fit a skinny boom but I'm not sure the newer version will. I don't think either version will fit a standard boom.

Understand that if you mount it on the rear of the boom the sail will push against the mount.

I found that the lens covers on my gopro max would fog up so ditched them. No need for waterproof case for insta x2 although I keep its little neoprene cover on the x2 until I am about to go in the water, then I tuck the cover in my wetsuit. No scratches yet. I really like the earlier insta quick release the new magnetic one is 40 quid
