What is the protocol for Iwindsurf fixing their paid sensors? I assume they monitor them and schedule repairs, but what is the typical downtime with their paid sensors?

This sensor is the only paid premium sensor in the area, so it is really important for some.

It does bring up a question. The group that really cares about a specific sensor is probably pretty small and might not merit the expense of sending out a tech ASAP. However the collective who cares about A specific sensors is large, and makes up the Iwindsurf subscriber base.

thanks

Hi Cosmodog,

All of our 1000+ sensors in the USA are monitored automatically. When a sensor stops reporting we first try to reboot it remotely. Then check that there is not a power or cell outage. If all that fails then the sensor is put in the queue for a repair. At any given time about 99% of our sensors are working but during times of hurricanes or lightning etc the % can be higher.

For many sensors when they get to the top of the queue we have to arrange air flights, hotels, van rental, ladder rental and sometimes work boat rental. But since the Gorge is the home base for west coast repair I would guess it will be repaired as soon as the repair crew returns home to rest.

Fortunately, this sensor is not one of our HurrNet sensors. That type of repair is a major job as you can see in the photos below.
