Hi,
I posted this to an earlier post so I am updating including topic. I know this is a personal thing vis vis fit, but thought I would ask anyway. I am 6’4” 185. I have a Dakine T-5, 2011…maybe it is getting old.

I don’t think I have brittle bones, but I am pretty sure my waist harness just cracked a rib! Maybe high wind and a bit bumpy. Who knows. Thing never really was comfortable with a lot of pressure on the sides when hooked in, but it is getting long in the tooth.

I can try to go to a seat harness for a few weeks, but I hate these things. They make me feel like I am being catapulted forward….hook is just too low.

Which brings me to my main question. Time for an upgraded waist harness for the gorge. Any recommendations on a new waist harness that does a nice job of distributing the load so one does not feel that side pinch?

As you said, it’s kind of a personal thing. Can you go to the HR stores to try harnesses?

spreader bars on some harnesses are too narrow.

try a wider one. could be that simple

and some harnesses don't allow a wider spreader bar.
I also find that a sliding spreader bar helps as the load shifts from one tack to another.
