I am likely too late to the post but i switched to the Ion Radium 8 waist harness and find it great for my back and really like the spreader bar which is imbedded in a big pad which stays put on my belly. I recently gave it to my sons to use as their old Dakines are pretty sloppy, and I upgraded to the Ion Radium Curve 13. stiffer but still comfortable. and the lever harm/hook to secure and tighten the bar on the 8 which was very good for a snug fit iis even better on the Curve 13. the lever arm on the 13 is a dual action mechanism so it is much easier to attach and then pull over for a snug fit that doesn't get all sloppy when everything wet. the 8 lever arm could be hard to pull over.... especially earlier in the season when the beer belly is bigger.
