Caught in the “break”…
—Maytaged
—run thru the spin cycle
—douched
—shrink wrapped

Doing alternate activities with non sailors…
—going for a poodle walk

Ha ha! I got maytagged yesterday. Now I have another sail I need to repair or replace.

I heard one from a Canadian Kiter yesterday (via Youtube). It was: "Don't go whale watching!" Which means: Do not sail out real far. Like the saying submitted in this post to not sail out beyond what you are willing to swim.

I had not heard it called 'whale watching' before. And this Kiter sails Lake Ontario. Heck, where I sail the whales are often in closer to shore than us and we are not really our very far.

Hmmmm ... I haven't heard that euphemism for it before. Did that come from Seinfeld?

Instead of whale watching I have always told my students “don’t go on a Forest Gump.”

Here is an example of that taken from a Windsurfing TV screen grab. Of course not all windsurfers have a full size van or a Sprinter....

May we assume that your dirt bike, road bicycle, lawn chair, kayak, PWC, and bong are on the trailer?

do you really need a fin that big?

Are you saying that to others or are they saying it to you?

i find myself on the smallest fin at most flat water venues. maybe not so much at surf spots though. sometimes a 30 cm fin with a 9.0...... with my long board.

John,

Do you use the stock fins that come with Exocets or change them out to customs?
