I have been using marine grade synthetic grease for my foil connections: mast head to deep tuttle, fuse to foil wings, mast to fuse, mast to board brackets, so they don't seize and become difficult to separate. this can be a bit messy coating these elements and then taking them apart after sessions or for travel. Also I am about to spend more time in salt water. So what do people recommend concerning dry lubricant alternatives to marine grease in salt and fresh water such asTeflon Fluoropolymer, or silicone sprays or hybrids of the two.... been using dry lube on bike chains but unsure if suitable for marine environment, and for carbon and aluminum components and mixed material connections...
Same question regarding bolts too. I use teflon tape which makes them more secure.... |

What do you use to clean off the gummy residue from repeated applications of lube? Tefgel is not clean. |
