Aloha,
I found a sail I really like to buy but it is located in Greece.
Shipping to the US was quoted for 360 euros (via DHL)
Seems a little steep, almost comparable to the price on the sail
Are there cheaper ways to ship it overseas?
Thanks!

A little steep
Lol
It’s full blown unrealistic.
A magic box doesn’t exist to ship things.
Find something on Long Island _________________ K4 fins

Read the post.
If I wasn’t sick on my back, this would make me so.
The OP wants a cheap sail, kool, he wants it shipped cheap from Greece
The solution doesn’t exist.
He needs someone who has a coordinated, contract with a carrier. _________________ K4 fins

It is not a cheap sail, it is the sail of a kind I use now and really like but it is close to the end of life. That place in Greece has exact same sail new.
If it is cost prohibitive to get it from there, alas. Life is life |

It would be nice. I'd rather fly to Cabarete.
Had to cancel that trip in April |

Is this an other sign that the age of mail order has peaked and now on decline?
A board ships or $140.
One sail $80.
Inconsistencies abound.
Deliveries inconsistent. |

Not at all, quite the opposite. Mail order is in exponential growth and will hit $740 billion in the US (1 in 5 of all sales globally) in the next couple of years. It's a massive growth area. However, high delivery costs (mostly due to fuel costs) are the main reason for the non-completion of an online sale. This one of the reasons that the multiples, that can either absorb shipping costs or can negotiate a shipping discount, are being so successful.
not that any of that helps the OP. |
