time to reform the senate
when 18% of Americans control 52% of the vote. it is just not appropriate.

The 'dangerous propositions' that come from Trump's acquittal
Quote: | Law analyst Benjamin Wittes weighs in on the rules he says were smashed by Trump's Senate acquittal and what that means for the Senate going forward. |

Same lame argument against the Electoral College, to be consistent, you can't be against one, w/o being against the other.
Both will survive throughout our lifetimes. |

Why the myth of the rural life persists while people—especially those who are talented or different—flee to the cities. |

Why redo the number of Senators?
As usual, Mac only tells part of the story. How about the House of Representatives? California has 23% of all of the country's Representatives - 53.
All states have rights regardless of population, so Representatives are proportionally assigned.
Balance of power - What a concept. It has worked exceptionally well for a long time - Get over it - Trump won, and as hard as the left tries, it's not changing. |

Anything outside of his belief structure goes right over his head. I didn't propose to redo the number of Senators, I tried to highlight a trend that explains the hard Republican nature of rural areas, and the nativist aspects of that population. I agree that the Senate has long been a bastion of conservatism in government, in the classic sense, not in the modern cultural warfare perspective. But rural areas have retained a disproportionate amount of power as the rest of the country has grown and diversified. There is a fear factor in the changes that have occurred in the rest of the country that Trump has taken advantage of in his approach. https://www.pewsocialtrends.org/2018/05/22/demographic-and-economic-trends-in-urban-suburban-and-rural-communities/
If you actually bother to read the article you will see that urban and suburban areas have grown--and diversified. This growth, and this diversity, is seen as a threat to the rural myth. Remember, the Marlboro cowboy died of lung cancer. |

Come up with some policies that sane Americans can live with, find a decent candidate, and STFU...
Try listening to James Carville , David Axlerod and other sane Democrates and you may hear the Truth.......
Instead lazy, and unhinged fools like you would rather change the rules and process.. |

You got me - the percentage is 12.2 of all the US representatives are from California. That's my point - their population gives them more power than any other state. No wonder they want as many warm bodies from south of the border as possible to add to their population. The more illegals they have, the more Representatives they get in Washington.
And by the way, all 8th graders can spell better than you (discrace). I wouldn't be commenting on others intelligence until you pull it together yourself. |
