The town's priority is to protect Dune Road...whether that spot ever gets restored is a question. This leaves Ponquogue and Tiana as the available spots (unless you want to drive all the way out to Ditch Plains.)

Wow the amount of erosion and scour that has occurred there is staggering. Anyone that thinks sea levels aren't rising is nuts. Beach replenishment can bring back the sand but it'll be many years before there is a ridable break there again.

It's a serious loss. The Bowl had a break, a protected inside via the jetty, and a nice beach shared by windsurfers kiters and surfers. I just realized that my avatar photo was taken at the Bowl. I don't have any good photos that capture the launch beach, but someone snapped this during a winter session several years ago, and the photog is standing on the beach as well. In any event that beach is gone.

sailed hecksher the other day.. even though that is on the GSB. there was a 3 foot vertical drop in the sand/beach, to get down to the water. (i never seend that before, excpet after hurrucan Sandy). but that video was wild.
