Saturday was pretty out of control- but not at all un-sailable out on the SLC-side. I had my 4.0 Superfreak, which I bought pretty cheap so I wouldn't get blown off the water when San Luis or Half Moon Bay shift into overdrive- this was the first time I've used it this season. It handled some 3.5 conditions pretty well. There were definitely gusts into the 40's with sustained wind in the high 30's out in the channel. But I only felt like I was having a near-death experience once, when my front foot came out of the strap in mid air- sort of a hazard of leaving your straps sized for wave riding in super hairy high wind and chop.
Sunday looked pretty windy too, but around 10 knots lighter than Saturday. |

rigged a 5.6 slogging at first . Then pumping for it.
Then not pumping for it. Then slightly OP ed.
Needed a light wind day after Saturday anyway.

Suppose to be good tommrow if you believe the charts

Arrived at 1 pm looked between 5.0 and 6.0
Rigged the 5.6
Not really that windy to start built up over the afternoon
Came up hard around 4:30 looked like the last nuclear
day for a little while.
Green patches on the North Launch pretty thick in the cover
and along the North beach launches but clear in the Middle
and South side. Mediros (south) side would be a better launch right now
if you want to avoid most of the weeds. |

Arrived at Noon it was looking really windy.
Rigged a 4.2 as soon as I did it really dropped
watched the other guy there with a 4.2 slog across and barely get
back Started rigging a 5.3 got it rigged and then the
4.2 conditions came back of course. Stayed on the 4.2
all afternoon. 6 people showed up on the North side sail sizes
from 4.7 to 3.5 .
Water Level High enough to not see much weeds on surface but
you wouldn't want to go without a weed fin. |

Arrived at Noon
Debated with my self between a 4.7 and a 5.3
Tried the 4.7 but it wasn't enough switched to the 5.3
and stayed on that the rest of the afternoon.
If you look at the graph it looks like a Sin Wave and it
was pretty much like that.
Had to work for it at times Zony and up and down and moving
around.
One Patch of Green on the surface in front of the main beach.
Clear in front of the Tree.
Water Level was pretty low today higher by the end of the day.
My own personal lake. |
