Mrgybe described Ivanka Trump as someone so accomplished that satire of her role sitting in the G-20 conference was inappropriate. Married to the son of a convicted money launderer, and daughter of an accused money launderer, it is fair to ask whether her behavior matches her rhetoric. Here from the Post:

Quote:
While President Trump has chastised companies for outsourcing jobs overseas, an examination by The Washington Post has revealed the extent to which Ivanka Trump’s company relies exclusively on foreign factories in countries such as Bangladesh, Indonesia and China, where low-wage laborers have limited ability to advocate for themselves.

And while Ivanka Trump published a book this spring declaring that improving the lives of working women is “my life’s mission,” The Post found that her company lags behind many in the apparel industry when it comes to monitoring the treatment of the largely female workforce employed in factories around the world.

From big brands such as Adidas and Kenneth Cole to smaller, newer players like California-based Everlane, many U.S. clothing companies have in recent years made protecting factory workers abroad a priority — hiring independent auditors to monitor labor conditions, pressing factory owners to make improvements and providing consumers with details about the overseas facilities where their goods are produced.
But the Trump brand has taken a more hands-off approach. Although executives say they have a code of conduct that prohibits physical abuse and child labor, the company relies on its suppliers to abide by the policy.

The clothing line declined to disclose the language of the code....

The Post used data drawn from U.S. customs logs and international shipping records to trace Trump-branded products from far-flung factories to ports around the United States. The Post also interviewed workers at three garment factories that have made Trump products who said their jobs often come with exhausting hours, subsistence pay and insults from supervisors if they don’t work fast enough.

“My monthly salary is not enough for everyday expenses, also not for the future,” said a 26-year-old sewing operator in Subang, Indonesia, who said she has helped make Trump dresses.

Like many U.S.-based apparel companies, the Trump brand signs deals with suppliers, which, in turn, contract manufacturing work to factories around the world. The system allows products to be sold to consumers for lower prices and creates economic opportunity — and risks — for workers in poor regions.

In China, where three activists investigating factories making her line were recently arrested, assembly-line workers produce Ivanka Trump woven blouses, shoes and handbags. Laborers in Indonesia stitch together her dresses and knit tops. Suit jackets are assembled in Vietnam, cotton tops in India and denim pants in Bangladesh — a country with a huge apparel industry where garment workers typically earn a minimum wage of about $70 a month and where some have recently faced a harsh crackdown from factory owners after seeking higher pay.

I do believe I used the term sweat shop.

Ivanka Trump set for court battle over $785 'copycat' sandal

Quote:
Edgardo Osorio’s prized sandals sit on a glass shelf inside his Madison Avenue boutique under zebra-striped arches and golden chandeliers.

The shoes have skinny heels, frills, and a tassel dangling from a dainty ankle strap that weaves up the leg. These days, they’re available in all kinds of colours and materials, but their signature suede style comes in a bold lipstick red.

Mr Osorio, the co-founder and creative director of fashion label Aquazzura, calls the sandal one of his most iconic creations.

Coveted by celebrities and fashion bloggers alike, these $785 suede numbers became a true “It” shoe since gaining traction in 2015. They helped catapult the designer and his label to international prominence.

So when he discovered that the clothing brand run by the daughter of now-President Donald Trump was making a similar item for only $65, he called in the lawyers.

Fed up with alleged duplicate shoe designs, Aquazzura fired off multiple lawsuits over his Wild Thing sandal.

Now if this thread was about Michelle Obama, or her daughters, I could only imagine all the "ist" labels that mac would be throwing out here towards the posters.

IQ30 again exemplifies the ignorant card carrying american that is just not capable of thought.

Did the obama daughters work in the whitehouse? Were they making profits off their government connections?

Remember Billy Beer the right wing went hog wild over him. And he had no position in the white house.

you are such a low-level thinker...

Remember an independent counsel was appointed to investigate Jimmy Carters Peanut farm which was completely in a blind trust. The right wing demanded one appointed because Carters Peanut sales were peanuts.

It's the Sopranos, it doesn't matter what gender Ivanka is. She is not qualified to be a diplomat, and she was taught dishonesty, like her father was taught bigotry.

Congressmen press White House to revoke Jared Kushner's and Ivanka Trump's security clearances

Quote:
pair of House Democrats sent a letter to White House counsel Don McGahn on Thursday calling on him to revoke the security clearances of two of President Trump’s top advisers: his daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner.

In the letter, Reps. Don Beyer, D-Va., and Ted Lieu, D-Calif., cited concerns about Ivanka’s and Kushner’s reported use of private email, as well as issues with their ethics forms. A statement announcing the letter accused the couple of a “brazen disregard for ethics” and an “apparent intention to skirt good governance rules.”

The push from Lieu and Beyer, who are among the fiercest critics of the White House, comes after a slew of headlines about Ivanka’s and Kushner’s email usage. Last month, Politico reported that the couple used private email addresses to conduct White House business — a potential violation of ethics regulations. USA Today subsequently said their email traffic was rerouted through President Trump’s real estate company, the Trump Organization, in the wake of the revelations. According to CNN, McGahn’s office began conducting a review of White House officials’ use of private email following the reports.

“Recent press investigations highlight severe credibility issues with Ivanka Trump, a White House official, close advisor, and daughter to the President,” Beyer and Lieu wrote, adding, “The White House is conducting an investigation into the disturbing actions of Ms. Trump, Mr. Kushner, and others.”

The security-clearance issue has drawn added scrutiny because in last year’s election campaign, Donald Trump repeatedly attacked his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, for her use of a personal email address during her tenure as secretary of state.

Beyer and Lieu also pointed to a report published by McClatchy on Tuesday that said Ivanka and Kushner were fined $200 for missing deadlines for their required financial forms. The congressmen also cited a New Yorker article from Oct. 4 that detailed how Ivanka and President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., were “nearly indicted” in 2012 for allegedly misleading prospective buyers as they worked on one of Trump’s real estate developments.

“These new revelations, along with the ongoing White House probe of Ms. Trump’s private email use, have compromised Ms. Trump’s integrity and credibility. We are requesting that the White House immediately revoke her security clearance pending an investigation into her actions,” wrote Beyer and Lieu.

Why?? did any other presidents children in the history of the USA become a top aid to the president? and had no government or related experience for the position? Are you saying that top level people in the administration cannot be discussed or investigated because they are adult trust fund babies.

I remember trump saying he had the best people in the world for running the government is why the government would be so good. Well it turns out most of his so called best he initially appointed he did not know before he was running or president and the ones he did are all under investigation for crimes from treason to abusing their position, from using government resources like taking $26,000.00 30 minute flights. that he could have driven in 90 minutes or taken a commercial flight for 1 grand ultra first class. So much for his lie that he knew the most competent people for government. His kids certainly are not.

I remember trump saying he would have no time for golf or leaving the whitehouse because he would be so busy.

Now I do believe we need to find out if trump paid off customs and immigration officials to get Melania her visa and or citizenship. And we do need an independent partisan prosecutor to investigate if she also lied about issue to become an american. She was working in the porno industry doing pornography shots in the USA before she had working visa. The question was she doing these shots for free or was she a paid porn star? If paid and she lied on her applications shouldn't she be prosecuted to the full extent of the law? It is said if she dis she would lose her citizenship.

After all it has been reported trumps company modeling agency was bringing in underage children to model and telling them to lie to US customs and immigration and to specifically tell them they were coming to the usa as a tourist, and not to say they were coming to work as a model. He finally had to close that business as he became president , obviously because they could no longer tell their 13 year olds how to get in.

I mean come on, they just ran a platform to steal the presidency of "crooked hilary" trump yelling with the crowd at events "lock her up" for using a private email server and private emails, were the kids left out of the memo on that, and they use a trump organization private server and send emails for government business with private email accounts? daaaaaa and right wingers here support it. And you are now claiming we do not have the right to criticise the presidents daughter who was running the government for it? priceless hypocracy....

Used a private server--and then responded to a Congressional letter telling them they had to retain their records by transferring them all to a Trump company. Hiding them.

The Sopranos in the White House.
