Supply and demand does have an ugly underbelly. Living in California has taught many of us that you can be crippled and/or priced out of the marketplace in so many ways. Young folks, and those at the bottom of the income ladder typically feel it in the worst ways. Unfortunately, it isn't going to be any easier as time marches on. |

We have the supply. 10s of millions of unemployed Americans with no education living of the system. Why does the left keep pushing the lie that we need illegal immigrants to do the work Americans don't want to do. |

Perhaps if you lived in our vastly overcrowded little island with its rapidly and uncontrollably increasing population (unrestricted immigration)...
A majority of us voted out, a main point being an end to uncontrllable immigration. We are prepared to accept a slight fall in lving standards (IF it really happens -nobody actually knows), and those who sneer at us should mind their own friggin business!

In another thread-
Matty. Mac, tell me, do you dream of open borders? (i.e. uncontrolled mass immigration.)
Mac. NO, ( Repeat, NO! ) i.e. bigotry by his own accusation.
White man speak with forked tongue.
Repeat his quote- NOTHING MORE NEED BE SAID!
My final statement on this (his) thread! |

mat-ty, I'm afraid you missed the point I was trying to make in my comments. I was talking about property values, and the potential of owning a home. Even if you can't buy a home, rising rents can still keep you at a disadvantage. In the best places, it's always a battle. |

This is for the benefit of those whose knowledge is derived from Wikipedia, and who choose to see racism or xenophobia as the root of every dispute.

The EU is crammed full of overpaid bureaucrats who justify their expensive existence by constantly looking for things to regulate or by putting up roadblocks for their own specific interests. So, in addition to legitimate concerns about unchecked immigration, the British also have an entirely understandable irritation at faceless, non-British bureaucrats telling them how to run their lives.......something that Americans would never allow.
Uneducated commentary from poorly informed outsiders merely reinforces the old adage "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing" |

When you have no answer, pivot. I repeat:
The value of the British pound on June 23 after Brexit vote: $1.4789
Value on October 7: $1.2443 |

Short term setback VS a long term disaster. I think the British people are smart enough to know the looming financial and social nightmare the open border lunacy policy will create.
What else would you expect from a narrow minded liberal?

.........and when I retired early I gave up a very large income. Does that make it the wrong decision? Simplistic analyses by those who have only the flimsiest understanding of the topic, are usually worthless. The lead post in this thread, repeated above, is no exception. |

Not really that much different than saying "we're in a heatwave, so global warming is real".
mac suffers from a lack of consistency. |
