Donald Trump’s re-election campaign poses the greatest threat to American democracy since World War II.

Mr. Trump’s ruinous tenure already has gravely damaged the United States at home and around the world. He has abused the power of his office and denied the legitimacy of his political opponents, shattering the norms that have bound the nation together for generations. He has subsumed the public interest to the profitability of his business and political interests. He has shown a breathtaking disregard for the lives and liberties of Americans. He is a man unworthy of the office he holds.

The editorial board does not lightly indict a duly elected president. During Mr. Trump’s term, we have called out his racism and his xenophobia. We have critiqued his vandalism of the postwar consensus, a system of alliances and relationships around the globe that cost a great many lives to establish and maintain. We have, again and again, deplored his divisive rhetoric and his malicious attacks on fellow Americans. Yet when the Senate refused to convict the president for obvious abuses of power and obstruction, we counseled his political opponents to focus their outrage on defeating him at the ballot box.

Nov. 3 can be a turning point. This is an election about the country’s future, and what path its citizens wish to choose.

It goes on—for ten pages. The worst mistake in American elections in our history.

Get ready. 1 of 2 things happen.
Trump reelected
Or Depression

Wall Street firms are increasingly advising their clients to prepare for a "Blue Wave" of victories in next month's national election. Such an outcome would land Joe Biden in the White House and give Democrats a majority in both chambers of Congress..."The consensus view is that a Democrat victory in November will be a negative for equities. However, we see this outcome as neutral to slightly positive," said Dubravko Lakos, a top strategist at JPMorgan Chase, in a recent report.

The main reason investors appear sanguine: spending. Biden's economic blueprint would significantly boost government expenditures, which economists say is necessary to speed the country's recovery from the pandemic. Most market strategists also seem to think investors would welcome a larger stimulus package now even if that meant adding to the national debt, and possibly higher taxes in the future.

Last month, Moody's estimated that Biden's economic proposals could create 7.4 million more jobs over four years than under the economic agenda Mr. Trump has laid out.

"The economic outlook is strongest under the scenario in which Biden and the Democrats sweep Congress and fully adopt their economic agenda," analysts with the credit rating agency wrote.

Yay Fox News!

“The president went after Dr. Fauci today, talking about ‘the idiots’ who worked on the task force and all of that, saying that people have COVID fatigue, they’re tired of hearing about it,” MacCallum said, playing a video of Trump’s Democratic opponent Joe Biden slamming Trump for pretending the country is turning a corner when things are, in fact, getting worse.
“We are seeing an uptick in hospitalizations in 39 states across the country. What do you say to that?” MacCallum asked.

Gidley celebrated the “good news” that case mortality rates are low, attacked Biden and claimed Trump has listened to Fauci on everything except his decision to ban travelers from China.

MacCallum interrupted: “Do you think it’s a good idea for him to call him an idiot at this point?”

You know what, I'm tired of Covid too and wearing a mask but I do it because it's the right thing to do.

We're all tired of Agent Orange and his ignorance.

Dump the turd November 3rd!

Those batteries are made from very toxic rare earth elements. Tankers etcetera are mostly steel and can be recycled

Characteristic trolling by Bard and Techno. There are few things dirtier for recycling than old cars and trucks. The Exide batteries date from years ago, primarily served cars, and should have been properly handled.

You guys subscribe to the same brainwashing that mgybe does. There is no global warming, electricity is bad.

Funny. The subject is recycling car batteries. The old batteries from "years ago" should have been easy to recycle compared to what is coming. THAT'S THE POINT, which you ignore.

Down the road with all the new "green" energy batteries, disposal or recycling could be a HUGE issue if not managed properly. The second point is that "green" isn't always as green as many would have you believe.

Funny? If you trolls actually knew anything, or checked, we might be able to have adult discussions. There is a steel recycling facility in the Port of Oakland, where I was environmental manager for many years. I have watched as regulations on water quality and air quality slowly ratcheted down on their operations. But recycling of cars and ships and batteries--old and new--can be done well if it is in fact regulated.

You anti-regulation boys rant about how dirty alternatives to carbon dioxide based power generation without actually informing yourselves. Good regulations and the economic value of the materials--steel or rare earths--will get you to good recycling. Lax regulations and businesses allowed to offshore will get you to bad recycling. But the volume of materials involved in the carbon power sector is vastly greater.

Do some research rather than just reposting what your conservative media--Murdoch, funded by big carbon--send you as e-mails.

This is, of course a violation of law. Trump using government resources as a campaign tool. But he is too ignorant to know that, and he wouldn't care anyway. He is scum. Vote the turd out.

he West Contra Costa Unified School District released this statement Thursday about a letter from President Donald Trump showing up in food boxes being distributed at district sites to families in need.

Quote:
Good evening WCCUSD Community,

We were notified this week that the food boxes distributed with WCCUSD meals at two distribution locations unexpectedly included a letter being distributed nationwide from President Donald Trump. The letter has been criticized because its arrival is just weeks before the November 3 election.

We want you to know that politics should not be associated with the food boxes. The boxes are being distributed as part of the CARES act. The CARES act was signed by the president and had the support of all our local representatives including Congressman Mark DeSaulnier, Congressman Mike Thompson, U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein and U.S. Senator and Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

WCCUSD’s Food Services’ partner, Daylight Foods, was awarded a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and partnered with us to distribute the food boxes during the pandemic. We will continue to distribute these food boxes with the generous help from Daylight Foods to help supplement the meals we provide for students during distance learning. It is possible future boxes will contain the same or a similar letter from the president.

WCCUSD is a sanctuary district, located in several sanctuary cities and inside a sanctuary state, which means we support ALL of our students, families and staff no matter where they are from or how they arrived here.

We provide food every Tuesday and Thursday at 9 school locations across the District, and will do so with or without a message from the government. The food boxes are distributed at two locations: Nutrition Services Center, 750 Bissell Ave, in Richmond on Wednesdays and rotated every Thursday at the nine school locations.
