I will be at the OBX in late March and again in early May, but not next week, plus my surf sailing skills are pretty rusty.

I am sure you will find someone there if the wind and waves are good. Check with the shops.

I am not sure Giuliani's comment was "meant" to be negative and divisive, but it certainly turned out that way.

No, the left wing media did that. His comments were accurate, heartfelt, and undeniable. Here's how one op-ed letter responded to the unjustified smear of Giuliani:

"On Friday, Martin Schram claimed that ex-mayor Giuliani launched outrageous attacks and smears against President Obama, such as “Obama wasn’t brought up like you and I”. Fact: Obama actually boasts that he was born to and sought the company of a wide assortment of self-avowed communists, socialists, Marxists, convicted bombers, and America-haters including Frank Marshall Davis, his own parents, Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, Van Jones, and many more.

Was Schram brought up that way? I sure as hell wasn’t.

Schram stated that Giuliani said Obama “has not displayed the kind of love for American exceptionalism that other American presidents have displayed”, then inexplicably cites Obama’s own admission that America is no more exceptional than other countries, naming Britain and Greece as examples. Schram added Obama’s words, “I believe in American Exceptionalism”, ignoring the fact that Giuliani very carefully chose the word, “displayed” instead of “proclaimed”. Fact: Obama’s displayed actions are usually the opposite of his teleprompter promises and proclamations.

Giuliani: “Obama has gone abroad and criticized us over and over.”
Schram: “Attacks and smears”
Facts: The Apology Tour speeches.

Does Schram or the Herald really think readers aren’t smart enough to see through such irrational, partisan accusations?"

It's like Limbaugh's honest, factual comments about quarterback Donovan McNabb years ago that the left said was racist. That's simply false.

Bullshit
Limberger said if Donavon Mcnabb was a white quarterback , he'd be just like everyone else. He was getting notoriety because he was black. He took the eagles to 3 NFC title games.... Espn canned the blowhard.
Dan Señor , one of the king pins of the Republican Party was outraged by Rudy's insulting commentary, go read his commentary.

Only on iWindsurf. It never ceases to amaze me how an obviously not stupid person can have opinions like this

That was not an opinion. It is a fact*, supported very briefly by that op-ed response. Read and watch Giuliani's entire actual statement and get back to us. Furthermore, read Obama's books and you'll find his other solid, self-proclaimed boasts referred to in the op-ed letter.

* Clarification: Neither Giuliani nor I know for a fact whether Obama loves the country or you or me; that's why G said, "I do not believe ...". But O's actions, and you know what they say about that, DISPLAY -- G's word -- a very deep dissatisfaction with this nation ... as do many of O's (and Michelle's) words (e.g., "I never loved this country until now ...", multiple apology tours right up through this week.).

as we know the Trump people are pushing to remove net neutrality...

allowing the ISPs to decide what you get politically. They can slow down dem sites to a crawl. and allow right wing sites to load quickly.

The White House offered its support Tuesday to the proposal of Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai to do away with Obama-era net neutrality protections.

“We support the FCC chair’s efforts to review and consider rolling back these rules and believe that the best way to get fair rules for everyone is for Congress to take action and create regulatory and economic certainty,” deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Tuesday.

The comments from Huckabee Sanders come one day after the public comment period on the order to roll back net neutrality rules ended. The “Restoring Internet Order” plan, proposed by Donald Trump appointee Ajit Pai, received nearly 10 million comments in total including 4.7 million in the last 30 days.

Internet companies and organizations rallied last week to generate support for the current net neutrality rules, which prevent internet service providers from blocking content, slowing or throttling connections, or providing paid prioritization that benefits companies willing to pay for preferential treatment.

Current net neutrality rules came to be after the FCC under Chairman Tom Wheeler voted to reclassify the internet as a public utility and ISPs as common carriers under Title II of the Communications Act. The rule made it possible for the FCC to regulate telecommunications companies in order to enforce net neutrality.

Chairman Pai’s plan would undo the Title II classification, making service providers information companies again. The proposal would also reconsider the fundamental rules of net neutrality and may allow ISPs to partake in blocking content, throttling connections, or implementing paid prioritization plans.

California’s tough net neutrality bill prompts U.S. lawsuit

Nation Sep 30, 2018 10:25 PM EDT
Quote:
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California Gov. Jerry Brown signed the nation’s toughest net neutrality measure Sunday, requiring internet providers to maintain a level playing field online. The move prompted an immediate lawsuit by the Trump administration.

The Federal Communications Commission last year repealed rules that prevented internet companies from exercising more control over what people watch and see on the internet.
Advocates of net neutrality hope the new law in the home of the global technology industry will have national implications by pushing Congress to enact national net neutrality rules or encouraging other states to follow suit.

But the U.S. Department of Justice wants to stop the law, arguing that it creates burdensome, anti-consumer requirements that go against the federal government’s approach of deregulating the internet.

“Once again the California Legislature has enacted an extreme and illegal state law attempting to frustrate federal policy,” U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement.

The law is the latest example of the nation’s most populous state seeking to drive public policy outside its borders and rebuff President Donald Trump’s agenda.

Brown did not explain his reasons for signing the bill or comment on the federal lawsuit Sunday night.

Supporters of the new law cheered it as a win for internet freedom. It is set to take effect Jan. 1.

“This is a historic day for California. A free and open internet is a cornerstone of 21st century life: our democracy, our economy, our health care and public safety systems, and day-to-day activities,” said Democratic Sen. Scott Wiener, the law’s author.

The Federal Communications Commission last year repealed rules that prevented internet companies from exercising more control over what people watch and see on the internet.

Telecommunications companies lobbied hard to kill it or water it down, saying it would lead to higher internet and cellphone bills and discourage investments in faster internet. They say it’s unrealistic to expect them to comply with internet regulations that differ from state to state

In this informative talk, Kocsis breaks down the different threats to internet freedom and shares his plan to build an alternative, decentralized network that returns power to everyday users.
