Well, FWIW I heard it through the grapevine it might be on for May 1. This would coincide with the Initial Study language: "On-land work, construction of the levee and road improvements and on-land components of the fish release sites, is scheduled to begin May 1-October 1, 2014 or May 1- October 1, 2015..."

It seems like the last update on the DWR was November 2014.

Which is, to my knowledge, still the case. I have heard some mention of a recent meeting, but so far I cannot find any details. Lots of rumors going around though, some of which conflict with the maps from November. I am copying those maps here to make it easy for people to have a point of reference.

There was a meeting and a handshake agreement was reached and the site nearest the park entrance, the Access, will remain open with alternative parking which will not be as convenient, but at least accessible. That is the latest information I have heard.

Coach G--Correct. The levee improvement district was critical--they realized that it would be far better to work with the windsurfing associations than having kiteboarders and windsurfers making paths willy nilly along the levee. They will keep the end near the park open, with less convenient parking, and the other end as well, closing only the stretch with Little Baja in it. In the long term they will work with the local association to install better access points that are more protective of the levee.

Thank you both for the updates. We need to squelch those crazy rumors.

Can someone give a better description of how the access at The Access will change this coming season? The diagrams show the area where we currently park as part of this project. From what I can tell, "less convenient" means not convenient.
