I personally like Corp. on a North wind keeps you in the wave zone. High tide mid day ish best for big wind days.

Why Corp instead of Chapin? Chapin looks side-on instead of straight on.

Better Parking, Prettier place to sail, Breakwater makes for full planning before you nail the wave zone, better rigging area, shorter walk to the water, better waves (deep water to wave zone), better place for Outcast to take pictures of us, less chances of having your window broken out by a thief(been done at Chapin never at Corp.) Safer...outgoing tide of Barnstable harbor is more dangerous if you get separated from your rig.
And the biggest reason...... it is just plain old more fun. Laughing

It's nice being able to keep an eye on your stuff. I sailed at pleasure beach in Dorchester a few times back in the late 80's. I lived in Boston at the time. I watched this guy I was sailing with land his rig on shore and go into a full sprint toward the road. He was watching someone break into his car on his reach back. And then chasing the thief down.

Must have been cold yesterday. I might get another day on the water this season, but need something close to 50 degrees to coincide with a day off.

Corp. was a bit explosive but the NNE direction was less than desirable!

Mayflower was better being side on in the right direction.

Both photo's from Corp ? Looks like the billingsgate bell is close.

Sometimes Howes beach (town beach east or corp) is a good launch if there's more east in it. Ride waves in front of the boulders then.

2'nd photo is pretty intense - Ed should photoshop in some icebergs for proper effect.
