mat-ty, too bad.... or actually i'm glad you went to the dark side..more waves for me:-)) 8 knot wave sailing while the kites were sitting on the beach.

Besides windsurfing , kitesurfing,snowkiting, and supping I also do lightwind sup sailing.
I have a Starboard Stinger 9'x30" 131 ltr with mast track. You are correct kites are no good under ( 11 mph for myself)). Your setup would be the best option for wave riding for sure. Its ironic you posted that photo of the Sealion( I believe its a SL). I just sent Bill Bell an email the other day inquiring about SL.
My Stinger does not work great or plane well with sail. I have been watching lots of videos lately on SL, looks very nice!!!!

What about all this talk about SL being limited to side off/ side?. The size really appeals to me. I really would like to avoid 12' board. Also looking to get my 11 year old out on something fun and lively. Looks like you are side on in photo with decent size wave and doing well.

mat-ty, the wind that day was 45 degrees offshore.. very offshore! thats a NE wind on the south side of hatteras island (billy Mitchel beach )
