Blunt Point was firing the last 3 days. Powered to OPd on a 4.7-84l fri/sat/sun. 2mm suit was plenty. Smooth flood surface made for some epic ferry wake rides from the buoys to Racoon Strait. "Heat wave"? Bring it. |

Thanks to Ron Adler for a great get together today! We bay sailors are quite the mix...You even let the Grim Reachers in the door...check your silver drawer and medicine cabinet! _________________ /w\ |

Kind of of to a sputtering start at 1:30 then filled in nicely, much better
than yesterday. Although the chart says 15 most were pretty powered on
low 5's to high 4's and a bit overpowered at times. |

PI surprised. Solid 5.5 or less from 3:30. Should have launched at Shimada Park. |

I think the key is Pt. Blunt:

if it's over 30, then it's sailable even if PI reads 15 |

Coyote; solid wind, warm temps, enough swell, smiles all around. |

Anyone know how much water is required to launch from Baylands on a slalom board. The closest tide marker is Palo Alto. Is 2 feet of water at Palo Alto enough to get out from Baylands? |

Where is 'baylands' launch? Is that different than the dock at Palo Alto?
Launching at Palo Alto: 4 feet or more is best. There are guys that sail out
from the dock at about 3 feet with a short freestyle fin. The whole
south bay is just mud (no water) below about 1 foot. |

I think Baylands might be the dock in Palo Alto you are talking about. Are you are talking about the public dock under the power lines in a park area at the end of Embacadero road? That is Baylands.
And when you say 3 feet is needed I assume you are talking about the Palo Alto tide indicator accessible at this site?
Anyone else have an opinion on tide level at Baylands? Someone told me 2 feet but maybe 3 or more feet of water is necessary? |
