Wind is better on the #9 Can. 9 times out of ten it's crossed up voodoo chop between the beach and #10. Pinch a little upwind. It's worth it. Just saying.
If anything we need one more sensor -- next stop upwind on the map is Port Chicago. Anything between that and Sherman Access is a guess...
That's my dos pesos anyway... |

Interesting Aqua, talking about farther up wind sensors. The only time I've ever been up there is sailing in the fall on a southerly (usually I would launch at Access or the Sign). Remember when 2 cents would buy a Bazooka Joe? Guess I'm getting old when one talks about what stuff used to cost. |

10 is accurate for WNW wind. 14 is accurate for WSW. 12 was good for both. If both sensors read the same then it's perfect thermal Sherman wind. That's my opinion for what it's worth |

Not worth anything at all, apparently, if you aren't a member of the "kite community." Speaking of whom, most of them launch at County Park or Little Baja. You'd think they'd want Marker 12 back too. |

Agreed. By far the most liters on the water are between the County park & just down wind of Marker 12.

Marker 12 was there before either of the others. It has been a mainstay for sailors and kiters alike. If seems a bit biased to say the kiters like M 10 better. The winds do change as you move up an down the river and i do not agree that M12 and M14 are redundant. There are always differences. Putting M12 back online would give sailors who venture between the access and the sign better information about where to launch. How about a compromise....leave M10 where it is and reinstall M12. Thaf would make everyone happy. You have sensors all over the world. One more can't hurt! |
