Mike,

To quote my late friend Paul Mann, "the rock is hot" aka the Sierra Nevada. I don't know the nuances of forecasting but a fairly dry late winter meant most of that snow was gone by April and the rock has been baking for about a month and a half.

Interesting shot. About over Bodega Bay at 12,000 feet looking SE. Someone flying commercial got the shot and now can write off the flight as a business expense???
