Any one have the time, expertise and desire to write a grant for improving a Bay Area launch?

You would need something like the SFBA to be the sponsor organization.

A related grant program:

Hey there, Tom here and I'm on SFBA board. We're keeping an eye on the SF Water Trail program but unfortunately nothing much to report and at least two reasons for that: 1. The Water Trail is typical of many progams which were set up when state water bond funding was available and by the time the program was up and running the cash had run out. Case in point I think they are capping their grants to $75k which doesn't buy much by itself. 2. The Water Trail is mostly about kayaking. And of course there is great overlap between what boarders and yakers want and need. But in many cases, the priorities for launch improvements don't line up all that well. For example I was interested in getting better access at Fort Baker, directly across the Bay from Cirssy Field. But when you look at it, the kayakers don't want to put in where the windsurfers want to go and vs. versa. Kayakers are happy to paddle inside the breakwater through calm, windfree water to get to the bay whereas, we're interested in just the opposite. Just an example. We'll continue to watch what happens with the Water Trail. Speaking of SFBA, our membership kicked in some cash for the recently installed dog washing station at Cirssy (it keeps dogs out of the showers). But maybe that announcement more rightly belongs in the Poop Thread (which will surely live on forever!).
