Thanks James. I sold my WASSUP and have been spending lots more time in flatwater learning outboard footstraps, bigger sails and fins. The SUP was so forgiving that I could play in the waves easily but it was limiting my learning.
Also the cameras have been great help to watch and learn, too |

A little bit of a chilly start but it warmed up and the wind came up right away. I learned how to use those rear foot straps today and moving the mast track. Very fast and lots of fun!

It took me three months of practice on this little board and waiting for the right conditions before I took it out in the ocean. So much fun but I need more practice on those transitions.

Saturday was fun at the Stuart Causeway. I showed up just after noon and put for sale signs on a couple of boards and a brand spanking new never sailed 5.0m North Sting. I got to try a Starboard 10'x34" whooper SUP with a sail. That was much nicer than I expected for such a big board. Very tempting to buy it but the smaller ones have footstrap options.
Lots of nice stuff there but I didn't get find what I needed or sell stuff. I'll head down to Miami next month for another swap meet to see what treasures are available.
Thanks to the organizers for the treats! I kept going back for cookies
I rigged up the 7.0m sail and tried to get the 144L Carve going but no luck. So I came back to take the for sale sign off the longboard. And had a fun couple of runs.

So much fun to be out in the waves. Shore pound was a bit tricky but I got lucky and timed it right. After a couple of runs, I got sloppy and dropped the sail on the inside...while trying to uphaul a perfectly timed wave nailed me and sent me swimming after the gear for 2 waves. I did catch it before the shore pound but that was not fun. No room for errors on the inside, I gotta move quick and get back outside even on the lulls.
