So we're in the midst of February and the Groundhog is full of #$%! for calling an early spring and right about this time, I'm having the dream.

It always happens around this time every year where the synopsis in my brain create the perfect windsurfing adventure in some far away place with awsome rolling swell, warm weather and a great time. I wake up to utter dissapointment to realize I'm still about 6 weeks away from a session at best!

Turning to beer and windsurfing videos to get me through these trying withdrawls but it's just not cutting it. I may need to resort to rigging my sails in my basement.

Actually, the groundhog was right on this year, he did see his shadow and thus predicted 6 more weeks of winter.
I have shoveled mega snow 4 times this past week. Here on the Cape some years I only shovel snow once..

But for me , as an ice sailor, this made a setback with snow covered ice everywhere! Been shut of of clear ice since groundhog day...

Take up skiing or snowboarding! Cool

Virtually no snow -- few sub-freezing lows at my house with some lows near 50 in January -- this winter, more sunny days than most winters, the grass and some isolated trees are greening up, some flowers are budding, temps occasionally pushing 60 awreddy, water temp breaking 40 ahead (I think) of schedule ... if this is global warming,
Bring
It
On.

there was some discussion that Phil wasn't coming out, period
since the Steelers weren't in the Super Bowl

I find I have to look at my gear, take inventory so to speak .

I rearrange my nuts and bolts, make sure I have the critical parts, bottle opener for one

Nothin' like warm sunny windy weather! How i miss those days of being single where i could vacation to tropical islands in the winter! Only 5 more years till those social security checks make their appearance in my mailbox each month. My first winter windsurfing vacation will be on Uncle Sam! Something I look foreward to!

My suggestion for adding more slalom sessions to your winter "sailing" is to consider the benefits of "sailing" a mountain board with inflatable tires on the largest parking lots you can find. Many of the useable parking lots are lighted at night so a Tuesday or Wednesday evening session is as possible as on a weekend. A lot that is 200 ft by 200 ft is large enough to do full figure eights.

So far this year in Iowa ice was good for 7 sessions. Cleared parking lots and the mountain board have given me 7 more.

In between teaching the Junior Achievers how to build snow caves/mirror signal, distrupt the power grid, and send burst transmissions, I've been off beer, working out and snowboarding to increase my plane-ability....

But so far my best winter activity has been holding tickets to the OGG.
