Mark, at hoodrivertruth. Powerful video of truly pissed off locals. Slightly sensationalized, but honest from what I can see.
It would appear you potentially have a new angle of view for us all on the relationships between the "Friends", the Naitos, and the Hood River county commissioners.
One also illustrated by CUSailin's immediate attempts to distance herself from any questioning in regards to the county commissioners. As a "Friend", I see her fear of being associated with a probing question very telling. Why go so far to point out you didn't even broach the subject, it was someone else?
Generally, because there IS something to hide.
As a complete outsider I find some of the circumstantially obvious questions raised about these relationships on iWindsurf threads, quite valid. I am curious and seek data. All comers welcome.
Watching this video, it would appear the county commissioner(s) tried to backdoor a clear cut for wind power in 2010?
Based on a 6 minute youtube video it looks like they got busted lying, and public opinion via bad publicity, stopped the clear cut.
Is that a fair assessment? I would appreciate it if you could put that video in context for me and under-informed out there, because a history of lying to the community in regards to county forestry planning, is serious business. Especially once one of the commissioners becomes a paid consultant to out of town developers. Fool me once.......
Am I reading this accurately? If so, it makes me wonder what really happened to Seven Streams and those horrible forest eating beetles, and what is really happening with the hotel on the waterfront. |

I smell what they are stepping in, too. Good point!
I watched the video when it was first posted and it was obvious that the County Commissioners were not being truthful. Meyers remarks and attitude were very telling!! He is no steward of the citizens!
Money just seems to get a grip on all politicians! |

Many thanks Port of Hood River for doing the right thing.
The cable-park proposal was inappropriate for The Basin.
Let the focus now be towards environmentally compliant developments, improved recreational access, beautification, and habitat restoration.
Oh... and by the way..., it's blowing 40 at Stevenson!

Most of hotels have facility of making online bookings rooms much before the day of arrival. You need not to wonder around here and there finding the right place.
