I can't believe all the incredible coverage this grass roots even got from some "very" talented camera men!!!
By the turnout of sailors and photographers I would say this day should of happened much sooner and I think the North East was just begging for a reason to get together and rip.I know Corporation is not a true side/side-off ground swell down the line spot. But it sure is fun and a great spectator beach! How many people do you think passed through the parking lot that day? Plan on the CCWC happening in October of 2011. Same story beach is determined by the wind.
2010 sailing season is not over yet so lets hope for more days to come. Any real good conditions setting up and we should rally the troops again.

You're saying this is not real or photoshopped in some way?
Since you missed that massive air, you probably also missed what I think was the wave of the day.

On part 2-- did anyone notice the dorsal fin that comes up twice 9 seconds into the video? Someone said they saw an ocean sunfish that day. That is what it looks like to me.

Looks like a basking shark to me - not an ocean sunfish, their dorsal fin is long, skinny and usually flops over to one side. Baskers have a round-tipped dorsal that is raked back a bit. Also, the fish moved significantly between the 1st and 2nd appearance, and ocean sunfish don't swim that fast. I have seen both of these types of fish in the past while sailing off of Bayview and Mayflower Beaches(maybe a mile west of Corp. for you non-locals). The fin does not resemble that of a great white, another fish I have seen(tho not while I was sailing, thankfully )
Great pic's and video from the event, nice to see everyone tearing it up all over again
What about the RESULTS??? Who won the trophies???? How 'bout a pic of those winners and/or their trophies - they were really nice, and hand-made in Chatham, of all places

When I was sailing, I saw the fin - it was pretty far out where I saw it.
Not a floppy fin, but long and straight. Not moving too fast. I did not mention it to anyone, (except my buddy Ken) as I didn't anyone to freak out. Whatever creature it was, he was just as mesmerized by the sailing as were our spectators.
What a great day - I was glad to be out on the water for such a great event. Thanks, guys!

What ever it was, it's close to shore right? Seems close in for a basker.

out of curiousity I sent an email to Greg Skomal (Shark tagger and expert) with a link to the Video.
He reposnded within an hour:
"Hi Philip:
Thanks for sending the clip. We will analyze it and get back to you.

Suzie's dorsal sounds like a sunfish.
This little bugger on the inside looks different.
I saw it again at 4:31 of Part 4. (I think) Just below the kiter.
Fun stuff out there.
til next time
Dean

Yeah, there it is again at 4:31 on clip 4, right below the kiter. Guess it wanted to stick around for the show
Now I know why you quit early, Suzie
Thanx for not saying anything
Don't think it would have kept most out of the water anyway
