All I can say is you will not be disappointed.

About two months ago I seekd for your advice about windsufring in California. JSE suggested traveling a little northern to the gorge in Oregon.
So that's what we did. As he promised - it was great.
My boyfriend, windsurfs and kiteboards , successfully sprained his ankle while kiteboarding on the first windy day. Well, he learned his obvious lesson - gotta take some time to get to know the wind in a new place (Not his fault! He was so excited to get in the water!).
As all beginners do, I practiced at the hook. I came with a basic knowledge of tacking. I practiced for 5 days and got alot better (thanks to my injured boyfriend that coached me instead of having fun). On the last day I tried to surf with the harness (I need a few more days).
total windy days in the end of august: 8 out of 12 (at the hook, kite launch, event site etc).
Overall:
We stayed at Viento camp. On one side of the camp there's a freeway and on the other one a railway that looks innocent at first glance (very very noisy not recommanded for sensitive people). The camp was clean, clean showers and toilettes, nice people and right on the river side. It's very close to hood river which is a nice place by itself (that's where the hook is). 14$ a night for a car and electical hookup.
We had plenty of stuff to do when the wind was gone - so many trails! backpacking, mountain bikes, kayaks.. it never ends.
gorge = perfection
I could have stayed there forever. really!
And now about the delta:
After visiting the gorge we were kind of disappointed from the delta. The atmosphere, the landscape- just not the same. It's good for the locals but not for a vacation I guess. The facilities are not good for comfortable camping (Brannen island is OK but it's 30$ a night.. shops are far..).
so we had a great time thanks to you guys,
if you need any help about windsurfing in Israel let me know,
