Yeah, I noticed the 4 battens, too. It's possible that the sail is 4-battens in small sizes and 5 battens in larger sizes. The sail says it's a 4.5, but prototypes often are mislabled or have sample graphics. but looking at the boom, I would guess that it's closer to a 3.7 or 4.0. They make that boom in 135, 145, and 160 sizes, and it looks like it's at minimum extension.
who knows?

Four battons is not unusual in short sails. Nor are cutouts. Rmember bat wing cutuots on Neal Prydes 5 years ago? The shape is much like a Naish Boxer. Maybe the new tech is the last years tech from Hot Sails. They use heavy kite material in the Freak UL. It is the lightest sail I have ever used. My 5.0 Boxer fits on a 370 mast and a 160 boom. The square shape adds a lot to the size without adding to boom length.

Yeah it's got a boxer-ish look to it. I love the boxer, but don't like how low the boom setting on it is.
I moved over to MS legend this year, and I think the feel is similar to the boxer (softness-wise), but the boom setting is more flexible.
I bet it feels like that pedigree of sail... if you're into that sort of thing.

Zones are generally a very direct-feeling sail and not all that soft feeling. some of this is the materials, and some of this is the mast:
-mostly monofilm body is low stretch and very responsive
-NP masts are very stiff down low, so the main body is stable with less softness due to mast deflection, and the mast deflection is higher up in the sail.
The softest wave sail I had from NP was my 5.4 Alpha, partly because it was rigged on a 400 X-Combat RDM mast w/ 30cm of extension. Soft mast=soft feel.
Your 5.0 Boxer was kind of the same deal: 5.0 on a 370 mast
Maui Sails masts are softer than average in the bottom section which partly is responsible for that nice, soft feel in their sails. Other company's masts like NoLimitz, Gaastra, and the Naish Firestick masts also have softer bottom bends. NP masts are the opposite, for a very direct feel.
Which is better? It depends what kind of feel you like.
