Thanks, that definitely makes the spot appear more attractive. One thing I do not like about it is the amount of leeches that are around there. It would never have been a problem if I didn't have 3 total beginners with me (I'm by no means any good, but I can sail, tack, and even gybe in low winds on my tubby old board) so I was standing in the water for a long time, helping them get going. By the time I was done I had 3 fat leeches fully attached to my feet and no salt or fire...I had to ask some random dude for a lighter and totally broke it by the time I was done burning those suckers off, haha.
You may see me out there this weekend then. |

There is a good site that hasn't been mentionned (and which doesn't figure on ABC's Web site): Tabor Point, VT. This site is good when it blows from the South. Best winds in Fall, but you can have some thermal winds in Summer, mostly early in the morning, before 9 a.m.
Tabor Point is a little park with a non-busy boat access (I mean small fishing boats) located at West Swanton. It's near Lakewood Campground. If you sail out of the bay, you'll find some nice swells on big days.
Hope you enjoy! |
